Therapy Fees & Insurance Information | Anxiety, OCD & ERP Therapy in Pennsylvania

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If anxiety, OCD, or fear has been running your life, therapy can help you learn how to respond differently.

Schedule a consultation to discuss your goals and determine if specialized anxiety treatment is the right fit for you.

How much does anxiety and OCD therapy cost?

At Hopeful Horizon Therapy, therapy sessions are $175 per 50-minute individual therapy session for clients seeking specialized treatment for anxiety disorders, OCD, panic disorder, and phobias throughout Pennsylvania. Couples therapy sessions are $250 per 50-minute session for those struggling with OCD or anxiety within their relationship.

Because anxiety and OCD treatment often requires specialized approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), sessions are structured around evidence-based strategies designed to create meaningful, lasting change, not just provide temporary relief.

Many clients come to therapy after years of trying coping skills, reassurance, or simply understanding why they feel anxious. My goal is to help you build the skills to respond differently so anxiety no longer controls your life.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Hopeful Horizon Therapy is an in-network provider with select insurance plans in Pennsylvania, including:

  • Highmark

  • Geisinger

  • Aetna

*Please note that these are commercial insurances. I do not currently accept Medicaid. I am however credentialed with Medicare through each of these insurance providers.

Insurance coverage varies based on your specific plan, deductible, copay, and benefits. If you are interested in using insurance, I recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your outpatient mental health benefits.

Not all insurance plans cover specialized ERP treatment, so I encourage you to ask about your benefits before beginning therapy.

What if I have out-of-network benefits?

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a superbill for out-of-network benefits at this time.

Why is specialized anxiety and OCD therapy different?

Many people with anxiety and OCD have already tried therapy before.

They may have spent years:

  • analyzing where anxiety came from

  • learning relaxation techniques

  • avoiding triggers

  • seeking reassurance

  • trying to “think” their way out of fear

While insight can be helpful, anxiety disorders and OCD often continue because the brain learns from what we repeatedly do.

Specialized treatments like ERP focus on changing the patterns that keep anxiety alive by helping you face fears safely and build confidence in your ability to handle uncertainty.

Therapy Intensives for Anxiety, OCD & Phobias

For clients looking for a more focused approach, Hopeful Horizon Therapy offers ERP therapy intensives throughout Pennsylvania.

Intensives provide concentrated treatment over multiple hours and may be helpful for individuals struggling with:

  • OCD symptoms interfering with daily life

  • Panic attacks

  • Severe avoidance

  • Specific phobias

  • Health anxiety

  • Relationship OCD

  • Intrusive thoughts

Intensive pricing varies depending on the length and structure of treatment. Schedule a consultation to discuss whether an intensive may be the right fit.

Are there lower-cost options?

I understand therapy is a significant investment. My goal is to be transparent about fees so you can decide whether this level of specialized treatment fits your needs.

If weekly therapy with a specialized provider is not financially possible, I encourage you to explore:

  • your insurance benefits

  • employee assistance programs (EAP)

  • community mental health resources

*In order to make therapy accessible, I do offer a limited amount of reduced fee slots. Please ask me during our consultation call.

Why pay out-of-pocket?

1. Complete Confidentiality and Privacy: When you pay out-of-pocket, your information remains strictly confidential between you and me. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and can request access to your session notes, which becomes part of your permanent medical record. Self-pay eliminates this requirement, protecting your privacy.

2. Control Over Your Treatment: Insurance companies often dictate the length, frequency, and type of therapy they will cover. By self-paying, you and I decide on the best course of treatment, the number of sessions, and the goals, ensuring the therapy is tailored specifically to your needs, not an insurance policy's limitations.

3. Freedom from Diagnosis: You are not required to meet the criteria for a specific mental health disorder to receive care. This allows us to focus on personal growth, relationship issues, stress management, or any other goal without the pressure of labeling or diagnosing your challenges.

4. Choice of Provider: You can choose any therapist you feel is the best fit for you, regardless of their insurance network status. This ensures you receive specialized care from a professional whose expertise aligns perfectly with your goals.
