About Kristie Scheib, LPC | Anxiety & OCD Therapist in Pennsylvania

You Don't Have to Keep Letting Anxiety Make Your Decisions

If you found your way here, chances are anxiety has been taking up more space in your life than you want.

Maybe you spend hours replaying conversations, searching for reassurance, analyzing every possibility, avoiding situations that feel overwhelming, or feeling trapped by thoughts you can't seem to shut off.

Maybe you've tried to manage it on your own. You've read the articles. You've learned coping skills. You've told yourself to stop worrying. You've tried to push the thoughts away. But anxiety keeps coming back.

That's because anxiety and OCD are not just about having stressful thoughts, they are about the patterns that keep those thoughts feeling powerful.

My goal is to help you break those patterns so you can stop organizing your life around fear and start living with confidence again.

Hi, I'm Kristie Scheib, LPC

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, panic attacks, and phobias.

For over 11 years, I have helped adults understand why anxiety feels so overwhelming and develop the skills needed to move forward, even when uncertainty and discomfort are present.

My approach is different from traditional "just talk about it" therapy.

I provide structured, evidence-based treatment that helps you understand anxiety, challenge avoidance, and build the confidence to do the things anxiety has convinced you are impossible.

I offer virtual anxiety and OCD therapy throughout Pennsylvania, making specialized treatment accessible wherever you are.

I Know What It Feels Like When Anxiety Takes Over

There is one thing I want you to know about me:

I haven't always had the relationship with anxiety that I have today. For a long time, I tried to control it. I tried to quiet it. I tried to make it go away. I tried to avoid anything that might trigger uncomfortable feelings. And the more I fought anxiety, the more stuck I felt.

The turning point came when I stopped trying to eliminate anxiety and learned how to respond to it differently. That shift changed everything. I learned that freedom doesn't come from creating a life where anxiety never shows up. Freedom comes from knowing anxiety can show up and still choosing to live your life.

There was a time when anxiety impacted even everyday activities.

Something as simple as walking into a grocery store could feel impossible because panic would take over. At one point, paying extra fees for grocery delivery felt easier than facing the fear of going inside. Avoidance felt like the solution.

But avoidance only made my world smaller.

Through my own experience and my professional training, I learned that anxiety does not get better by giving it more control. It gets better by learning that you are capable of handling discomfort, uncertainty, and fear.

Today, I can show up for the people and moments that matter to me without anxiety deciding what I can and cannot do.

And that is the kind of change I help my clients work toward.

Therapy That Helps You Get Your Life Back

Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted.

They are tired of:

  • overthinking everything

  • needing constant reassurance

  • avoiding situations they want to enjoy

  • feeling controlled by intrusive thoughts

  • wondering "what if?"

  • trying to find the perfect answer or certainty

Therapy with me is focused on helping you step out of that cycle.

Together, we work on:

Understanding Anxiety and OCD Patterns

You will learn why anxiety and OCD continue to feel so convincing and what keeps the cycle going.

Building Confidence With Uncertainty

Anxiety often demands certainty before you move forward. We work on creating the ability to move forward even when certainty isn't possible.

Facing Fears Instead of Avoiding Them

Avoidance teaches your brain that fear is dangerous. Evidence-based treatments help you build new experiences and confidence.

Creating Lasting Change

The goal isn't just feeling better during therapy sessions. The goal is creating a life where anxiety no longer runs the show.

My Approach to Anxiety and OCD Treatment

I specialize in evidence-based approaches including:

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is considered a first-line treatment for OCD. It helps individuals face fears while reducing compulsive behaviors, reassurance seeking, and avoidance.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps identify patterns between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and teaches new ways of responding.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you build psychological flexibility and take meaningful action based on your values, even when anxiety is present.

Who I Help

I work with adults throughout Pennsylvania who are struggling with:

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Intrusive thoughts

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Panic disorder and panic attacks

  • Health anxiety

  • Specific phobias

  • Avoidance behaviors

  • Fear and uncertainty

I especially enjoy working with people who are ready to stop managing anxiety and start changing their relationship with it.
